Encouragement is better than scolding, insults, and disdain. How parents bring up children makes a difference. If we always chastise, slight, and distrust our children, they'll feel inferior, head in the wrong direction, and tend all the more to give up on themselves. Low self-esteem is intimately related to parents' and teachers' attitudes and the environment. However, we shouldn't praise children too much or we'll spoil them; we should encourage and praise them in proper measure.
